Oak Creek Village - Summer Kid Club Update

The first annual Oak Creek Village Summer Kids Club has been a great success so far. To read an update on how things are going click here. Please pray for a dry evening tonight as our week of activities culminates in a community celebration at Oak Creek Village.

Give a Kid a Chance - August 15

All Saints Church will begin collecting school supplies soon to help under-resourced families prepare for the coming school year. Watch for details.  Save the date: August 15, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to stuff backpacks.  Then, from 2-4 p.m. we will be teaming up with Durham Public Schools for a Back to School Day at Oak Creek Village where we will hand out backpacks and school supplies to the community.

Service of Healing - August 15

The Anglican Church has had a long-standing practice of special prayer and worship services for healing, believing that God is the true healer on every level (spiritual, relational, emotional and physical), using both natural and supernatural means to heal.  In addition, prayer for and support of medical practitioners figures prominently into the holistic ministry of faithful Anglicans.  Recently, the needs and opportunities for healing prayer have greatly increased at All Saints.  Therefore, we will have a special Public Service for Healing, consisting of worship, the proclamation of God’s word, prayer and anointing and communion, on Sunday evening, August 15, at 7:00 p.m.  This is a wonderful opportunity to be prayed for, to pray for others, and to bring friends who would benefit from calling openly upon God for healing, all in the context of biblical worship.

Women of All Saints - Oasis August 17

Women, you are invited to come (and bring your friends!) to Oasis this summer. Oasis is a time for women to pause and reflect on the way God is present in the midst of us.  A time to share the story of God's work in our lives, and be encouraged by hearing other womens' stories. We'll be meeting August 17, from 7-9 PM at All Saints Church. Click here for more details. Click here to download a flyer with more details to pass along to your friends.

God, Science and Truth - Oct 15 and 16

Do science and Christianity represent conflicting, irreconcilable worldviews, or do they play complimentary roles in revealing aspects of God's creation, character, and plan? If the latter, can scientific discoveries enhance our understanding of God as revealed in Scripture? Furthermore, by examining the current and historical conflict between science and faith, can we open a meaningful dialogue with scientists who hold a negative view of Christianity? If the intersection of faith and science is of interest to you, we invite you to a mini-retreat on Oct. 15th and 16th at All-Saints Church where we will discuss how one may approach topics of science and technology from a Christian perspective.

If issues of faith intersecting science interest you, could you take a moment to complete this brief survey? Your feedback will be important for helping us plan!

Praying for Fresh Pentecost

Our Rector, Steve Breedlove, has challenged us to pray for a fresh Pentecost, a fresh outpouring of the Spirit in each of us and in our congregation. The Prayer Ministry invites everyone to join us on Sunday mornings during the summer, starting June 6th, from 9:00 to 9:45 AM next door at Turning Points to pray for this fresh outpouring. Even if you can only come for part of the time, or if you arrive late or have to leave early, please do join us for this special time of prayer.
