Team Update: Jennifer Ennis

Update: Many of our initial observations take on meaning as we
reflect over time. "We want this partnership to be based on
friendship. We don't just want your resources we want you to get to
know us and we want to get to know you", Archbishop Kolini said....

Women of All Saints, join us for our next "oasis", a

present in
the midst of us. Our next gathering will be Tuesday evening, July 20 at 7

refreshments,
conversation and discussion. Elizabeth Snoeyink and Laura Warmke will

A Public Service of Healing - August 15
The Anglican Church has had a long-standing practice of
special prayer and worship services for healing, believing that God is
the true healer on every level (spiritual, relational, emotional and
physical), using both natural and supernatural means to heal. In
addition, prayer for and support of medical practitioners figures
prominently into the holistic ministry of faithful Anglicans.
Recently, the needs and opportunities for healing prayer have greatly
increased at All Saints. Therefore, we will have a special Public
Service for Healing, consisting of worship, the proclamation of God's
word, prayer and anointing and communion, on Sunday evening, August 15,
at 7:00. This is a wonderful opportunity to be prayed for, to pray
for others, and to bring friends who would benefit from calling openly
upon God for healing, all of the context of biblical worship.

Second Service Begins - August 22
August
22 is
the start of a new day at All Saints with the addition of an early
worship
service, 8:30 - 9:40 a.m. Infant and toddler nursery will be
provided.
Our full Children's Church ministries will be offered during the
second
service, which will shift to 10:15 - 11:45. Plan ahead, invite
your
friends and pray for the growth of the gospel through the ministry of
All
Saints.

Small
Groups this Fall
At All Saints, our primary ministry strategy for
discipleship, mutual ministry, pastoral care and friendship is Small
Groups. For five consecutive weeks beginning August 15, it will be
"Full Throttle for Small Groups," a golden opportunity to join one of
several different kinds of small groups. New and existing 242
Groups, Adult Faith Formation Groups, "Christianity Explored"
(evangelistic home groups), Men's and Women's Ministries - many
different opportunities will be offered. Please be in prayer and
expectation for ways to plug into significant small group community and
spiritual growth.
If you are interested in being a 242 Group
Leader or would like to know more information about 242 Groups, please
contact Jule
Cate Kelly.

God, Science and Truth - Your Input Needed
Do science and Christianity
represent conflicting, irreconcilable worldviews, or do they play
complimentary roles in revealing aspects of God's creation, character,
and plan? If the latter, can scientific discoveries enhance our
understanding of God as revealed in Scripture? Furthermore, by examining
the current and historical conflict between science and faith, can we
open a meaningful dialogue with scientists who hold a negative view of
Christianity? If the intersection of faith and science is of interest to
you, we invite you to a mini-retreat on Oct. 15th and 16th at
All-Saints Church where we will discuss how one may approach topics of
science and technology from a Christian perspective.
If issues of
faith intersecting science interest you, could you take a moment to
complete this brief survey? Your feedback will be
important for helping us plan!

Praying for Fresh Pentecost
Our Rector, Steve Breedlove, has
challenged us to pray for a fresh
Pentecost, a fresh outpouring of the Spirit in each of us and in our
congregation. The Prayer Ministry invites everyone to join us on Sunday
mornings during the summer, starting June 6th, from 9:00 to 9:45 AM
next door at Turning Points to pray for this fresh outpouring. Even if
you can only come for part of the time, or if you arrive late or have to
leave early, please do join us for this special time of prayer.

Glad You Asked Blog
The Glad You Asked All Saints
Church blog is has been updated with two recent questions.
Find out about the 1928 Book of Common
Prayer and a question about the dress code at All Saints Church.
The
purpose of
this blog is to answer questions or address issues of broad interest
that arise in the life of our church. We see this as a great way to help
us all better understand why we do what we do and to encourage us to
grow in love and unity. Email your questions to gladyouasked@allsaints-chd.org.
A response will be posted soon after.
